The 21st century teaching environment is vastly different from that of “oldies classroom”. Markers have “killed” the chalk, transparencies have transformed into ppts and YouTube has screened “Ending” for videotapes.
Yet these hardware are miniscule when compared with the changes in the software of teaching. The growing presence of students “voice” is prevalent, teaching is no longer a one way street, rather students clamoured for full participation in generation of ideas.
The teacher of today can no longer stay aloof in his pedestal relying on his technical expertise, there is a need to step down for provision of holistic education to students through customising all the various elements of teaching based on students requirements as:
